Welcome to our fantastic school!

We are so proud of our school community and as governors we want to ensure that your children have the best experiences during their time at Harbury CE Primary School.

Governors are volunteers. As part of our role, we are responsible for developing a vision and strategy for the school and oversee its financial performance while making sure its money is well spent. We also hold the school and trust leaders to account to ensure that every pupil has the best possible education.

Chair - Mr Mark Kemp

My name is Mark Kemp and I live in Harbury. I have been a school governor since March 2024, and I have now been elected Chair. As Chair I will have the opportunity, with fellow Board members and the teaching staff, to positively shape the future of our children in the village and help contribute to their educational experience and broader development. I am sure there will be a sense of personal fulfilment for me, in knowing that the Board I lead is contributing to the success and wellbeing of the students. It is an opportunity to make a positive impact on the teaching staff, who have such an important role to play in our children’s lives, who are a critical resource, and dedicated professionals in their care for children. It is a great opportunity for me to contribute to the Harbury community, but there is also the prospect of personal growth in terms of developing new skills and furthering my knowledge and understanding of education. Finally, I have some transferable skills that I hope will add value such as leadership, strategic thinking and financial management acquired in 35 years’ service in the NHS. I hope that the students and the school will benefit from this. I was delighted that both my children attended Harbury and it’s a privilege to be able to maintain contact with such an important anchor in, and for, the village.
