Welcome to Year 4

Our Summer term topic is

Why is Stratford-Upon-Avon Famous?

This term, Year 4 will dive into the exciting topic of Why is Stratford-Upon-Avon Famous? Through our captivating class text, I was there... Shakespeare's Globe, we’ll explore the wonders of life during the Tudor times, while in art, we’ll experiment with sketching techniques to create stunning Tudor inspired portraits.

Our science lessons will flow into the fascinating world around, learning all about living things and their habitats, and the impact we, as humans, have on these. In maths, we’ll strengthen our skills in multiplication and division, measurement including money, time and shape, building confidence for tackling tricky problems.

Geography will take us on a journey around local places, uncovering the rich history of our surroundings. History will take us back in time to what life was like in Tudor England, and to top it all off, we’ll visit the wonderful Mary Arden's Farm, where we’ll become Tudors for a day.

In PE we will be focusing on netball and tennis in summer 1 & cricket and football in summer 2. In RE we will be asking ‘Do you have to be part of a faith community to hold an organised worldview?’ and ‘How have religion and history entwined in this area?’

Our values for Summer 1 are thankfulness and friendship.

Our values for Summer 2 are trust and compassion.

It’s going to be a term to remember!
