Year 3 and Year 4 enjoyed a truly marvellous and memorable day at Coventry Cathedral — a wonderful opportunity to bring their learning to life.
For Year 3, the visit was particularly special. During the summer term in Year 2, they learned all about Coventry Cathedral in their RE lessons. This trip gave them the chance to see in person everything they had previously explored in class — from the ruins of the old cathedral to the striking beauty of the new cathedral and its powerful symbols of peace and hope. It was a joy to see their excitement as they recognised key features and made thoughtful connections to their prior learning.
For Year 4, the visit linked perfectly with their current curriculum studies, deepening their understanding and encouraging meaningful reflection.
As a whole school, Peace and Reconciliation are at the heart of all that we do. These values underpin our Positive Behaviour policy, Thrive approach and restorative practices. Visiting Coventry Cathedral — a global symbol of reconciliation — provided a powerful, real-life example of how forgiveness, hope and unity can grow from even the most challenging circumstances.
It was a day filled with awe, reflection and inspiration — learning that will stay with the children for years to come.
